This painting was inspired by the rich canopies of South Carolina's forests as they open to let light shine through their dark, cool shade.
In the breeze, they whisper their long-held secrets when you listen carefully. I love the trees of the south – their shapes, shades, and the strength that lies in their quiet roots.
My paintings all have words written, mostly hidden but I left “listen” visible as a reminder.
