“Raindrops on the Marsh” is one of four paintings created during the Port Royal Plein Air Competition 2025. The four painting collection won the “Spirit of Scene” award on a very rainy, cold and windy day.
There is beauty even in this weather! The rain contributed to a few natural drips on the canvas.
This painting was created from the boardwalk at The Sands Beach, Port Royal. It was raining sideways so for this painting I turned away from the water and painted the marsh behind to key the rain at my back.
